Pacquiao vs. Hatton - Manny Says "I am Hungry To Win"

Manny Pacquiao is not taking it easy. Currently Manny is busting up sparring partners at the Wild Card Gym in Hollywood, California. Last December he picked up the biggest win of his career, a one-sided eight round stoppage of Oscar De La Hoya. Now he is regarded as the number one pound-for-pound fighter in the sport, and with De La Hoya announcing his retirement, he might be the biggest moneymaker in the sport.

None of that has made Manny lose "the hunger" as he puts his body through hell in training camp to prepare for the May 2 showdown with Ricky Hatton, scheduled for May 2 in Las Vegas.

"Of course I'm hungry for this fight, to win, because [it's my] first time to fight an English fighter. Right now we're in heavy training and I'm in 100% good condition. He's a strong fighter and he's a good fighter too and he's a champion, so I don't want to underestimate him," Pacquiao told The Guardian .

Pacquiao will fight fire with fire. Hatton claims that Pacquiao's body has never been tested and he plans to fire plenty of hooks to body. Pacquiao doesn't think Hatton like body shots either, and plans to throw plenty of them as well.

"He doesn't like to get hit to the body," said Pacquiao.

Pacquiao's trainer, Freddie Roach, says Hatton is tough but he expects his fighter to overwhelm the Brit.

"Manny has speed, power, boxing ability – so I think he will overwhelm Ricky in this fight," Roch said. "Ricky's a tough guy, no doubt about that. He's very resilient; he's tough. He comes to fight."
