Pacquiao, Villaraigosa to meet in Filipinotown on Saturday
Manny Pacquiao, just back from a promotional tour in England with his May 2 opponent Ricky Hatton, will visit Filipinotown on Saturday accompanied by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
The Asian Journal reports Villaraigosa is expected to "honor and celebrate" Pacquiao, the Philippine boxing star considered the world's top pound-for-pound fighter. Pacquiao trains under Freddie Roach at Wild Card Gym in Hollywood.
The event is open to the public beginning at 8 a.m. at 3200 Temple St., and officials expect Pacquiao and Villaraigosa to arrive after 10 a.m., when Pacquiao is expected to receive a "special recognition" from the mayor.
